Sizing is the most important thing to get right – a size too large in knickers or a thong could suggest that you think that your partner’s derriere is bigger than it actually is. If you haven’t managed to peek inside her lingerie drawer to check the size she actually wears, then err on the side of caution and buy a size too small. She will be thrilled as she will think that you see her as a slimmer version of how she really is.
Her style
What sort of lingerie does your partner like to wear? Is it generally sporty, glamorous, simple or lacy? It is really only you men who tend to go straight for the bright red and often shiny lingerie! We women prefer a little subtlety. So... glamorous is good. Sexy is also good. But scratchy cheap fabrics and too “obviously sexy” and quite frankly un-wearable out of the home, isn’t good. Full cup is best for women with larger breasts and the full cup will give more support than the other shapes. However sexy the bra you choose for your partner, well-fitting underwear that supports and lifts will give her more confidence about her undressed body. Most women feel better about themselves wearing some lingerie in the bedroom than being completely naked. |

Padded bras give a boost to the smaller busted woman. The padding can be in the entire cup or can be fuller at the under part of the cup giving extra oomph. If you think that your partner would love to look more voluptuous then this is the bra for her. |

Plunge bras can also be padded to give more cleavage, and give cleavage boost to the already fuller busted. This style bra is the one to wear under plunging necklines that show cleavage, as the bra is cut to show off maximum decolletage. |

Balconette bras give uplift from under the breast and give the effect of a “swell” in the style of a Jane Austin character. The bra cups are more horizontally cut that diagonally and are great to wear with wide low necklines that don’t plunge. |

Corselettes are all-in-ones (bra and body) that hold and shape. These are great for curvy girls and can look sexy in the style of a 50’s pin up. |

Basques are usually strapless low backed “corset-style” long line bras with boning in the fabric around the torso. The boning gives extra support and shaping. This style is often the bridal lingerie choice as it works well under wedding dresses and evening dresses. |

A Waist cincher is a corsetry item that holds and slims the waist. It can be sexy and worn with a balconette bra, French knickers, and maybe stockings. Your partner could look as fabulous as Dita von Teese, the Burlesque artist. |
